The Proposal: Her Version

The Proposal: Her Version

So to start off with, I should tell you that I had a feeling the proposal could happen on our aquarium day. That isn’t remarkable, though, because I had convinced myself that it was going to happen on a previous date, too. I decided I would dress and primp just in case, but I tried not to get my hopes up. We got there, took our picture, and sat down for the dolphin...

There’s a funny thing about having 500 days from the proposal to the wedding… it’s a really long time. We’re already planning, with some frontrunners for the reception venue, but until we get anything a bit more concrete and interesting, I’ll regale you with the story of purchasing the ring. It was May 12th, 2011, and I was shopping with one of my oldest friends,...

The video of our proposal at the Georgia Aquarium. Video angles are from my parents hiding off to the side, and from the hidden camera in my pocket. Unfortunately, my hidden camera was a bit of a pervert, so most of what it filmed isn’t shown, but it captures a couple good moments.

In the previous section, I described the year worth of preparation that went into my proposal (here's the link if you missed it). In this second part, I'll talk about the real preparation from a couple weeks before the the proposal, involving my accomplice and I frantically running around the Georgia Aquarium like chickens with our heads cut off looking for a picturesque spot. The Proposal, Part 1: The Preparation

Because I've never in my life heard the phrase "Keep it simple", a whole lot of planning went into the proposal, including a part that was almost a year in the making. To describe it all, I'm going to break it up into three chunks: the Preparation, the Planning, and the Proposal itself. In this first entry, I'll describe the insane preparations that were under way for the entire year preceding the proposal itself. To read about it, click 'Read More' below.
